Other Events:

Goran Bregović and His Wedding and Funeral Orchestra...Tuesday July 27th...Performance on the Vlatava River. This Unique concert will take place in the heart of Prague, on a floating stage in the river. Several Tour boats will be up close, and there will be good views from nearby Strelecky Island. The show starts at 7:30pm. See the website here.
Prague Folklore Days...July 29th to August 1st...This is the fourth year of the event celebrating Czech traditional stories. Performances and events will be held around the city, but mostly at Old Town and Wenceslas Squares. It will be primarily in Czech Language but tourists can enjoy the costumes and physical performances, as well as a taste of the old Bohemian culture. See the website here for full details.

Summer Film Series...Every Night...Looking for a way to relax and enjoy after a long day of sight seeing? Well, every summer Prague sets up an open air theater for international films on Střelecký Island in the River with spectacular views of...everything. The films start at 9:30pm and cover a wide range of Czech and international offerings. Many films are in the original English, or have English sub-titles (check the right hand column of the poster). Entrance costs just 89-99czk to get in (£3, €4, $5) and food + beer is available. Even better, every Thursday there is a concert preceding the film at 8:00pm. The Island is crossed by Legions Bridge and is on the map here. Take trams to either end of the bridge (stops: Ujezd / Narodni Divadlo) and walk onto the bridge and down the stairs. Or, take a cab direct to the island: “Střelecký ostrov” in Czech (seriously just write it on a piece of paper to show the driver). Czech out the website here.

Beer Gardens…with the weather now nice Prague’s many beer gardens have opened up, we recommend Letna Park (Letenske Namesti tram stop and walk south) and Reigrovy Sady (walk into the Park opposite Saints bar) Both have areas with spectacular sunset views, perfect after a day of sightseeing. On the Maps:
Letna Beer Garden: is here
Riegrovy Sady Beer Garden: is here
