Other Events

New Website...PragueEventsCalendar.com... This new website does a great job listing the many cultural events happening in and around Prague. It also lists most of the major buildings and sites in Prague. Unfortunately it is focused slightly more on Prague residents and has a lot of paid for spots, but still useful for planing your trip.

Trutnov Music Festival....August 19th to 28th...Originally an underground anti-communist event, this festival began in 1987 and is the biggest open air music festival in the Czech Republic. The City of Trutnov is 2.5 to 3.5 hours from Prague, near the Polish Boarder, and can make a long but nice day trip by itself. Czech out the festival website here.

Hip Hop Kemp...August 19th to 21st... This Hip Hop event will also take place outside Prague in Hradec Kralovy (fairly close to Trutnov actually), about 1.5 hours from Prague. Like Turtnov it features a small but quaint down town and the concert will feature Hip Hop artists from around the world. See the website here.
Beer Gardens…with the weather nice Prague’s many beer gardens are open, we recommend Letna Park (Letenske Namesti tram stop and walk south) and Reigrovy Sady (walk into the Park opposite Saints bar) Both have areas with spectacular sunset views, perfect after a day of sightseeing. On the Maps:
Letna Beer Garden: is here
Riegrovy Sady Beer Garden: is here

Theater/Opera… Prague’s National Theater has several locations and great performances, you can see the whole schedule in English here: http://www.narodni-divadlo.cz/Default.aspx?jz=en&dk=program.aspx#
OR, you can pick up tickets online to these and other Shows here: http://www.ticketsonline.cz/
Art/Music events…Best to go to Ticketstream.cz, they have the biggest listing of events all around.
